Every test prep plan starts with a real baseline. Our in-person diagnostic test is a fully timed SAT/ACT exam held every Sunday at 10AM at our Sorrento Valley office. It shows which test plays to your student's strengths, where they're losing points, and how pacing and stamina affect their score.

    Individual test prep sessions, plus 2-month ($5,500, 16 sessions) and 3-month ($7,500, 24 sessions) packages of 90-minute sessions.

Getting to Our Sorrento Valley Office from Poway

Our office is at 11300 Sorrento Valley Rd STE 101, San Diego, CA 92121, just off I-5 and I-805. It's where we hold in-person tutoring sessions and our Sunday diagnostic tests.

Between school, sports, clubs and other commitments, finding time for tutoring is often the hardest part. If the drive doesn't fit your week, online sessions give your student the same tutor and the same plan with no travel at all. We're open Monday to Friday from 9AM to 9PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 9AM to 5PM. The same options are available to families in nearby Rancho Bernardo and Scripps Ranch.

Does Pivot Tutors have an office in Poway?

No. Our office is in Sorrento Valley at 11300 Sorrento Valley Rd STE 101, San Diego, CA 92121. Poway students can meet with a tutor there or work with us online.

Do your tutors come to our home in Poway?

No — we don't offer at-home tutoring. All tutoring takes place online or at our Sorrento Valley office, and your student gets the same tutor and the same personalized attention either way.

Can you help students at Poway High, Westview, Del Norte, Rancho Bernardo or Mt. Carmel?

Yes. We tutor all school subjects, including math, science, English, humanities and languages, and our tutors are experienced with the curricula students are working through. Share your student's syllabus, assignments or upcoming test topics, and we'll build sessions around them.

Should my student take the SAT or the ACT?

Our diagnostic test is designed to answer exactly that. It shows which test plays to your student's strengths, so you don't spend time preparing for the wrong exam.

Where and when is the diagnostic test held?

In person at our Sorrento Valley office every Sunday at 10AM. Each test is $100, and the fee can be applied to your test prep plan if you tutor with Pivot.

How much does tutoring cost?

Academic tutoring is $175 per hour, or $600 per month on our monthly plan (4 hours included). SAT/ACT tutoring is $235 per hour, with 2-month and 3-month packages available. Contact us and we'll recommend the option that fits your student's goals.

What grade levels do you tutor?

We most often work with middle school, high school and college students, and we can support students at other stages of their academic journey too.

Can sessions fit around school, sports and activities?

Yes. We're open 7 days a week — Monday to Friday from 9AM to 9PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 9AM to 5PM — and online sessions remove travel time entirely.
