The Role

We are looking for passionate and knowledgeable tutors to join Pivot Tutors and support students across academic subjects and test preparation. As a tutor, you will work with high school and college students, helping them build confidence, master key concepts, and achieve strong academic results.

You’ll deliver personalized tutoring sessions, adapt to different learning styles, and guide students through coursework, exams, and standardized test preparation such as AP, SAT, ACT, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions
  • Personalize lesson plans based on each student’s learning needs and goals
  • Support students with academic coursework and standardized test preparation
  • Teach core concepts along with effective problem-solving strategies
  • Use engaging and interactive teaching methods to improve understanding
  • Administer practice tests and track student progress
  • Provide constructive feedback to help students improve consistently
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress when required
  • Stay updated with curriculum changes and exam patterns

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking tutors who are not only academically strong but also passionate about teaching and mentoring students.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (completed)
  • Strong academic performance (minimum GPA of 3.5 preferred)
  • A grade of A- or higher in the subject(s) you wish to tutor
  • Excellent understanding of subject matter
  • Availability for 3+ afternoons/evenings per week (approx. 9–20 hours/week)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, professional, and committed

Preferred Qualities:

  • Prior tutoring or teaching experience
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in a simple, engaging way
  • Patience and adaptability when working with diverse learners
