THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic History Tutor to join our team. As a dedicated History Tutor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional academic tutoring and AP test preparation to high school and college students. Your expertise in History will empower students to grasp complex concepts and excel in their coursework and AP exams.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions on History.
• Tailor study plans to address students' individual academic needs and learning styles.
• Assist students in preparing for AP exams, covering essential topics and exam-specific strategies.
• Teach fundamental History concepts and problem-solving techniques.
• Utilize interactive teaching methods and resources to enhance students' comprehension.
• Administer practice tests and mock exams to evaluate students' progress.
• Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to motivate students in their academic pursuits.
• Collaborate with parents or guardians, offering progress reports and addressing any concerns.
• Stay updated with the latest History curriculum changes and educational trends.

APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

All applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Bachelors degree – complete and not in progress.
• Must have earned a grade of A- or higher in the subject(s) to be tutored.
• Minimum GPA of 3.5 from university or college.
• Exceptional understanding and enthusiasm for the subject content.
• Available to work 3 or more afternoons and/or evening shifts for approximately 9-20 hrs/wk.
• Responsible, dependable, honest, and mature.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Friendly, patient, and sensitive to a diverse range of students.
